Passivation

Matini Technology provides an in-house passivation service to ensure that all pipework arrives onsite clean, ready for use and fit for purpose. This involves the immersion of stainless steel in a solution of nitric acid or of nitric acid plus and oxidizing salts, to restore the original corrosion resistant surface by forming a thin transparent oxide film. The treatment also dissolves any embedded or smeared iron left on the surface during processing.
